The last few weeks seem to have passed rather breathlessly as the season enters its busiest phase. The last month has seen Silverstone Classic, Aston Martin Owners’ Club and BARC at Oulton Park and MSVR at Donington Park. Fine venues and tremendous racing all. While half of the events (specifically those in Cheshire…) were blighted by unwanted precipitation, the racing has been nothing short of awesome. From Legends slip-sliding three abreast around a greasy Oulton, and Lotus 2-11s still inches apart after an hour of hard-fought combat around swooping Donington to the amazing duel between Bob Berridge’s thunderous Sauber C11 and young Japanese star Hideki Yamauchi in countryman Katsu Kubota’s Nissan R90CK in the second Group C race at the Classic. In fact, so fierce was the pace in the Group C race, the pair were lapping 5-6 seconds quicker than the previous day. We have so much to be proud of in the UK domestic racing scene. These are some of my visual highlights.
